The “P” Talks!

THOUGH a third son was born unto him, public servant of the 1st District of Parañaque seeking for another term, Jomari Yllana still manages to give his fill time to both his public and personal life.
“Na-enjoy ko na ang pagiging public servant, Mama Pilar. Kaya nga ang showbiz, medyo naiiwasan ko. May mga guestings sana pero, ‘pag naiisip ko naman ang mga kailangan ko munang haraoin at unahin hindi lang sa desk ko but sa iba pang mga gagawin, nagagawa kong tanggihan.”
Like the rest who are on the guest list to be part of Coco Martin‘s longtime series, does he not feel regretful?
“Sa pagkakilala mo sa akin, I’m one who does not regret the things I do. At saka ‘yung paniwalang things happen for a reason o there is a time for everything. Naramdaman ko ang pagmamahal sa akin ng mga taga-Parañaque kaya sila ang nasa priority list ko.”
Even the movies…
“Noon, Direk Erik Matti wanted me to lose a few pounds pa. Siguro may mga takbuhan ang eksenang gagawin ko kaya hindi ako natutuloy. Ngayon, heavyweight na ang Lolo mo pero pwede pa rin naman umakting kung may pagkakataon. But at this point, pagsisilbi muna sa Parañaque ang nakatoka’ng gawin ko sa ngayon.”
From sun up to sun down. Konsi Jom is not just going around his District. He goes into each and everyone’s home to look into their needs ans how his good office can help each household.
But wait! People are very curious with the very special woman who has been and is always beside him all throughout his campaign. Not just today but since the first time he ran for office. They call each other “KAPS”!
“SA ABS-CBN nag, krus ang landas namin. We worked together in “Kampanerang Kuba”. That was where the special kind of friendship started. KAPS kasi short for Kapatid. Parang term of enderament na rin. So, magkita man kami o hindi, the friendship just got stronger.
“So, marami na kami alam sa isa’t isa. Hanggang sa pati ang dreams and pagpasok ko na nga sa pulitika eh suportado niya. She is mu number one supporter. Kaya anytime na anyayahan ko siya, pati sa pagiikot, naglalaan soya ng panahon niya.”
People look at her as your First Lady. Are you not in a romantic relationship?
“Wala kaming gano’n. Look, the mother of my two children now eh, hindi naman siya. Wala namang naging ligawan. Basta steady lang. Chill. Alam mo ‘yung parang kapatid mo na may a little bit of syota na parang asawa pero hindi naman. Weird ba ‘yun? Pero that is where we are so comfortable with. Laya lahat ng mga pinahdadaanan namin eh, naibubuga namin sa isat isa.”
Why haven’t you tried wooing her?
“Hindi ganon. Baka mawala.pa ‘yung magandang samahan namin. You see us every now and then. Yakapan. Halikan. Expressions namin at hanggang doon lang ‘yun.”
Are you not the marrying kind? Your recent partner gave you two healthy sons. When are you proposing?
“Like I said, everything happens for a reason. In God’s perfect time. Who know who’s meant to be with me kung meron mang forever. I think, at this point, in our friendship, you have known me the longest. What ‘ya think?”
Well, to have a JEAN GARCIA beside you in your most trying times is a feat to be matched.
